The Power of Angels

In some form or fashion literally all societies have some form of prayer.  Pray is a powerful tool for connecting with the Divine Source and there are numbers of prayers that many claim are empowering from the Lord’s prayer to the prayer of Jabez.  Even the psalms of David are considered powerful and almost magical in nature, and many swear by their effectiveness.  Many of you know that I have been an initiate of the Golden Dawn for over 30 years and even in a non-denominational mystery school such as the Esoteric Order of the Golden Dawn prayers are used as part of Angelic invocation.

In the Golden Dawn second Order we often work with a variety of Angels.  I do not believe you need to be a member of the Golden Dawn to work with and invoke these powerful Angels of Light.  One grouping of angels that are employed is the Shemhamemphoresch.  These are powerful Angels of Light that are derived from the 72-fold name of God.  These 72 names of God come from the Book of Exodus in the Torah, and carry a long Qabalistic tradition with them.

Most mystic believe that these angels are extremely holy and that one must involve themselves in deep prayer and supplication before working with them.  I would tend to agree.  However, I have worked with and talked to many people who believe that simply invoking the right and respectful intention when calling on these Light Beings is all that is necessary.  I too would agree with this.  When it comes to working with angels and invoking them to teach you, guide you or aid in with you life, the heart far outweighs the brain.  It is essential to open your heart, and in this act, you will discover the Power of Angels is an amazing experience

There are traditional prayers associated with each of the angels of the Shemhameforesh. While the prayers are derived from the book of psalms and often uttered in Latin for the specific angel invoked, if you do not have the formula or are not a member of the Esoteric Order of the Golden Dawn, you can simply open your heart and mind to the angel you wish to call on.  While I generally stick to the formula, and the assigned prayer, I am in no way telling you that this is the only way to call on a specific angel.  Below is an example of a prayer in Hebrew and then translated into Latin.  As a side note, one certainly could not claim that this was even traditional, as most good Jews would prefer to recite their prayer in Hebrew.  The truth is, is that you can recite in latin, English, Hebrew, or Japanese.  There are no limits+. Below is such a prayer for the angel Achaiah:

The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in steadfast love.

Miserator, et misericors Dominus: longanimis, et multum misericors.

It is interesting that most mid-evil grim mores include sigils and symbols, numbers and magical squares. These too are used in the Golden Dawn for the invocation of these angels.  The use of them seems to amplify the connection and the specific energy of the angel employed.

I will end with a brief story.  I know a guy whose father was dying of cancer.  He was a member of a group of people that practice very basic angelic prayers and invocations.  They certainly do not work with anywhere near the number of Angels as the Esoteric Order of the Golden Dawn. He went on Face book and asks all his friends to simply call on the angels to heal his father.  His father had stage 4 cancer and was likely not going to live.  His goal was to have 10,000-angel minister to his father.  Now while that may seem like a large number, the Qabalah tells us that 10,000 angels can dance on the head of a pin.  Everyday he continued to call on his friend to send angels to help his father.  Long story short, His father went into total remission and has no cancer now.  I don’t know if it was the angels, or the faith, or something unknown that cured his Father, but angels do have awesome power and the only thing that will interfere in your ability to invoke them and experience the true power of angels is if your heart is closed.  Pray and the power of angels will invoke incredible miracles.

Angels have a deep history that can be traced to extreme ancient times.  While these “Beings of Light “were created at the moment the creator said, “ Let their be Light,” according to the teachings of Qabalah, this knowledge should not put anyone off from developing a strong, loving and close relationship with  Angels.  Most of those who work with Angels including Solomon, John Dee, Levi, and McGregor Mather’s believed that knowing the name of the Angel needed for a particular  task or need was essential.

I  am not certain if it is essential, as I read about a man who simply called on 10,000 Angels to heal his father from cancer and got more than enough help.  I do however believe that in most cases knowing the name of the Angel will help you with a specific need or task. Calling on the right Angel for your needs may be more effective than yelling out, ” calling all Angels.” Naturally, I believe intention is the key.

I also think that knowing the Angelic hierarchy is important too.  Here is the reason why?  Angels serve a sliver of Light from the Divine Source, and when you know the name of that sliver or ray of Divinity, you have a name that vibrates higher than the Angel you are calling on for help.  Again, probably not vital, as there are thousands of stories of people calling on Michael for protection and receiving it, but, if for a split second you can reach beyond the Angelic realm,  and you invoke the Arch Angel of that realm then the  results can be MIRACLE MAGIC. ( A method I use all the time to help my Miracle Mentoring clients. )

I believe as Co-Creators of the Universe, the Angels are here to serve and empower our purpose in life.  I believe we can be more of what we really are called to be, when we call on the Power of Angels.
